vioB coding region from Chromobacterium violaceum and codon optimized for Saccharomyces cerevisiae. vioB is a gene in the biosynthesis pathway of violacein, a purple (bis-indole) pigment that also has antibiotic properties. The violacein pathway consists of the vioABCDE genes.
